DENPASAR — The Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan) has officially reappointed Wayan Koster as the Chairman of the Bali Regional Leadership Board (DPD) for the 2025–2030 term.
The announcement was made by Darmadi Durianto, Head of Industry, Trade, and Labor Affairs of the DPP PDI Perjuangan, during the Regional Conference (Konferda) and Branch Conference (Konfercab) held in Denpasar on Saturday (October 18, 2025).
“We hereby endorse and confirm Wayan Koster as Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan Bali Regional Leadership Board for the 2025–2030 period,” Darmadi declared.
This marks Koster’s third consecutive term leading PDI Perjuangan in Bali. He was elected unanimously after receiving full support from all branch-level boards (DPCs) across the province.
Alongside Koster’s reappointment, I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara was named Secretary, while I Dewa Made Mahayadnya was appointed Treasurer. The new leadership structure includes 30 percent women representation and involves a number of young cadres in key positions.
“The consideration was the 30 percent quota for women. Out of 21 board members, seven are women. We also made sure to include the younger generation,” Koster explained.
Koster also conveyed the directives from PDI Perjuangan Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, emphasizing the importance of unity, active engagement, and grassroots involvement to ensure that the party continues to respond to the aspirations of the Balinese people.
“Our political achievements in the 2024 elections were significant. We gained over 50 percent of the votes and secured an additional 14 seats in the regional councils. We also won in eight regencies and cities. This is a strong foundation for the years ahead,” Koster said.
Meanwhile, Andreas Hugo Pareira, Head of Membership and Organizational Affairs of the DPP PDI Perjuangan, said that the central leadership’s trust in Koster reflects the party’s appreciation for his strong organizational leadership and consistent performance.
“The conference in Bali was one of the best examples of a democratic and harmonious process. It could serve as a model for other regions,” Andreas noted.
He added that the aspirations and programs presented by local branches would help shape the party’s strategic direction for the next five years. “We move forward with unity and a spirit of democracy,” he said.***
