BALI — Indonesia’s ambition to become a global health and wellness destination continues to advance with the groundbreaking of an international-standard fertility center in the Sanur Special Economic Zone (KEK Sanur) or The Sanur, Bali. The ceremony was led by PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (InJourney Hospitality), a subsidiary of InJourney, in partnership with Alpha IVF Group, a leading fertility clinic network from Malaysia.
The 6,343 m² medical facility will be operated by PT Alpha IVF and SPOG Bali (ASPOBA), a subsidiary of Alpha IVF Group, and is designed to offer comprehensive fertility services — including In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), obstetrics and gynecology, as well as a range of women’s and children’s health services. The center will also play a key role in strengthening Bali’s position as a premier global medical tourism destination.
As a pioneer in fertility treatment across Asia, Alpha IVF Group brings more than three decades of expertise in reproductive innovation, including AI-powered embryo selection, advanced genetic testing, and world-class IVF laboratory standards. Its strong global reputation underpins Alpha’s expansion into KEK Sanur.
President Director of PT Hotel Indonesia Natour, Christine Hutabarat, said the development marks a strategic step in transforming Sanur into a world-class health tourism hub.
“This initiative responds to the growing demand for high-quality fertility services in Indonesia, while bringing international-standard medical expertise and technology closer to the public,” she stated.
Christine emphasized that the presence of Alpha IVF will strengthen KEK Sanur’s position as a premier healthcare destination serving both Indonesians and international visitors.
Group Managing Director of Alpha IVF Group, Dato’ Dr. Colin Lee, noted that Indonesia’s fertility needs continue to rise.
“Our presence in Bali aims to bring world-class standards closer to patients while supporting the government’s vision of establishing KEK Sanur as a leading regional health tourism center,” he said.
As part of a national strategic initiative, KEK Sanur selects only international medical operators that pass a rigorous evaluation. Alpha IVF Group was chosen based on its clinical capabilities, global track record, and reputation as one of Asia’s most successful fertility providers.
Construction will begin following the completion of preliminary requirements, with commercial operations targeted within 18 months of the agreement taking effect. The center will become the flagship fertility facility within KEK Sanur and a key component of Alpha IVF Group’s expansion in Indonesia.
Beyond healthcare services, the center is expected to strengthen the region’s reproductive medicine ecosystem through knowledge transfer to local medical professionals, clinical capacity building, and support for modern reproductive technologies across Southeast Asia.
Christine concluded with optimism:
“We are confident that this collaboration will serve as a catalyst for a sustainable and competitive health tourism ecosystem, enhancing Indonesia’s appeal as an international destination.”
The development of this world-class fertility center marks a major milestone in realizing Indonesia’s vision of becoming an International Health & Wellness Destination, expanding access to modern medical services while positioning The Sanur as a leading global destination for next-generation healthcare solutions.***
