Bali – ARTOTEL Sanur Bali proudly presents a new collaboration with Balinese artist Sakde Oka through her debut solo exhibition “Voyage of Becoming”. The exhibition is held at ARTSPACE from September 12 to November 15, 2025.
Voyage of Becoming encapsulates Sakde Oka’s personal and artistic journey in exploring the self and the relationship between humans, nature, and the universe. Using embroidery and woven threads as her medium, Sakde channels emotions, intuition, and reflections into artworks that are deeply personal and rich in philosophical meaning.
“With every stitch, I embed emotions and self-reflection. The process becomes a space for contemplation, uniting thoughts, feelings, and creative intuition,” said Sakde Oka.
The exhibition showcases a series of significant works marking Sakde’s artistic evolution, including The Symphony of Rain, Drift of Nectar, Where Water Burns in Colour, and Vessel Beneath the Tree. Her works draw inspiration from Balinese Hindu philosophy of Bhuana Agung (macrocosm) and Bhuana Alit (microcosm), emphasizing the essential connection between humans and the universe.
The exhibition concludes with Three Graces, depicting three female figures holding hands, symbolizing that transformation is not only an internal journey but also shaped by human relationships and collective dynamics.
