BEHIND the steady growth of Indonesia’s hospitality sector stands a calm yet influential figure. Ruben Amor, with over three decades of experience, exemplifies how trust and integrity form the true foundation of lasting success.
For Ruben, the hotel business is not just about grand properties, investment figures, or occupancy rates.
“We’re talking about long-term investment,” he explained. “Hotel investments are worth hundreds of billions, so the returns can’t be instant.”
That statement perfectly reflects his philosophy: every project must begin with trust. In a capital-intensive industry that requires long-term commitment, investor confidence is everything. “My greatest responsibility is to ensure that investors know their capital is safe in my hands,” he said.
“That’s where trust and integrity mean everything.”
This principle is not merely theoretical — Ruben has lived by it in every partnership he has built.
“Character defines every partnership,” he emphasized. “About 90% of my investors are from China — a culture that values trust above all. Once you earn it, they’ll stay with you for the long run.”
Ruben believes that success in hospitality depends not only on intelligence or business strategy but also on character and consistency.
“This business isn’t just about being smart — it’s about having character,” he stated firmly.
“Everything we do in hotel development management must be professional — but always rooted in honesty and trust.”
Ruben’s journey stands as proof that a legacy built on integrity and good character outlasts profit margins.
Strategic Partnerships with Government and Regional Enterprises
Under Ruben’s leadership, Adonara Group functions not only as a hotel operator and consultant but also as a strategic partner to government institutions and regional enterprises (BUMDs).
Currently, the group is collaborating with several state-owned and regional-owned companies, as well as government ministries, to manage state and regional hospitality assets.
“We see great potential in underutilized government assets,” Ruben explained.
“With new regulations encouraging public–private collaboration, we view this as a valuable opportunity to create mutually beneficial partnerships.”
Through these collaborations, Adonara Group contributes to professionalizing the management of public assets while creating economic value for local regions and communities. **
