BADUNG — Ngurah Rai Immigration Office has intensified monitoring of foreign nationals in Bali through the nationwide Wirawaspada Operation 2026. In a series of enforcement actions conducted in early April, officers detained a number of foreign nationals suspected of violating immigration regulations.
The violations range from misuse of residence permits and overstaying to the use of fraudulent documents. The operation targeted key locations within the jurisdiction of Ngurah Rai Immigration, as well as online activities monitored by the immigration cyber unit.
During an operation on Wednesday (April 8) in Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta, officers secured two foreign nationals suspected of using fictitious residence permit schemes. They include a Nigerian national identified as AKC, holding an investor stay permit allegedly linked to a shell company, and a Ugandan national identified as SM, suspected of submitting false documents to obtain a remote worker stay permit.
In addition, the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteldakim) uncovered alleged online prostitution activities involving two Russian nationals, identified as KP and VB, who were suspected of offering services through digital platforms.
On Thursday (April 9), a joint operation was conducted with Indonesian National Armed Forces Strategic Intelligence Agency and Public Order Agency of Badung Regency in the Jalan Poppies area, Kuta. The operation resulted in the detention of six foreign nationals.
Two Tanzanian nationals, identified as AFL and ATK, were found to have overstayed their permits. Meanwhile, three Ugandan nationals—CN, MN, and RN—were suspected of engaging in activities inconsistent with their residence permits. Another Nigerian national, identified as CA, was detained for possessing an expired passport and allegedly using falsified documents.
All detained individuals have been brought to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for further questioning and investigation. Authorities emphasized that strict sanctions will be imposed in accordance with applicable laws, including deportation and blacklisting.
Head of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, stated that the operation reflects the government’s commitment to enforcing immigration law and safeguarding national sovereignty, particularly in Bali as a global tourism destination.
“We will not tolerate foreign nationals attempting to bypass Indonesian law, whether through fraudulent documents or misuse of residence permits. Bali is open to those who comply, but violators will face firm actions, including deportation and blacklisting,” he said.
The Wirawaspada Operation 2026 is being carried out simultaneously across Indonesia as part of a national strategic agenda led by the Directorate General of Immigration Indonesia. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening oversight of foreign nationals and maintaining national security and public order.
Authorities also called on the public to actively report suspicious activities involving foreign nationals in their communities.***
