BALI — A business dispute surrounding the ambitious Marina Bay City project in Lombok is escalating, shifting from questions over financial transparency to serious allegations of intimidation and threats of violence.

In a statement received by media on Saturday, March 21, 2026, the legal team of businessman and investor Jamie McIntyre revealed details of alleged threats directed at their client in recent weeks.

The controversy once again places Adrian Campbell, CEO of Kinnara, under scrutiny. McIntyre claims that instead of providing clarity on the project’s financial reports, Campbell has allegedly engaged in actions that amount to intimidation.

According to McIntyre, several individuals described as local thugs recently approached a separate project he is developing in Bali. He emphasized that the project is unrelated to Marina Bay City in Lombok or its developers. The individuals reportedly claimed they were acting on behalf of Campbell.

McIntyre further alleged that he received a direct WhatsApp message from Campbell containing threatening language: “Don’t forget to smile. I will enjoy what happens next. Your charade has ended in destruction.”

Tensions escalated when McIntyre began receiving additional messages from a WhatsApp account בשם “Jay Dee,” registered to an Australian number but allegedly sent from Thailand, where Campbell is believed to currently reside.

These messages referenced a group referred to as the “Black Shirts,” described as a motorcycle gang allegedly being mobilized to carry out acts of violence. One message read: “The Black Shirts are coming for you. They are a friendly group. Accountability is their top priority… It’s almost time… there will be a knock on the door.”

McIntyre also reported receiving screenshots from a WhatsApp group titled “Investor Update,” which he claims was created by Campbell. The messages circulating in the group included statements implying violence against him.

One such message stated: “I want to gather some local biker thugs, capture him [Jamie McIntyre], take his passport, break both his arms, and send a message not to play with investor money.” Another message referenced the presence of Australian biker gang members in Bali.

As of publication, neither Adrian Campbell nor Kinnara has issued an official response to these allegations.

The case adds to a growing list of controversies surrounding the Marina Bay City project, which has previously faced scrutiny over the alleged lack of transparency in the use of investor funds. As public attention intensifies, calls are mounting for a comprehensive investigation to ensure accountability and investor protection.
