Marina Bay City Lombok Dispute Intensifies Amid Allegations of Threats and Financial Transparency Issues

DENPASAR — A business dispute surrounding the Marina Bay City development project in Lombok has intensified, following allegations of intimidation and threats in an ongoing conflict between businessman Jamie McIntyre and Kinnara CEO Adrian Campbell.

According to a statement by McIntyre, he received a series of messages allegedly containing threats after his legal team repeatedly requested financial documents related to investor funds believed to be linked to the Marina Bay City project. The requests, he said, were formally submitted to Campbell, his legal representatives in Jakarta, and Kinnara’s financial officers.

McIntyre further claimed that, in recent days, several individuals he described as “local thugs” approached another project he is currently developing in Bali. He emphasized that the project is unrelated to Marina Bay City in Lombok or its development company.

In addition, McIntyre alleged he received a WhatsApp message from a number believed to belong to Campbell containing threatening language: “Don’t forget to smile. I will enjoy what happens next. Your charade has ended in destruction.”

Shortly afterward, he said he received further messages from a WhatsApp account בשם “Jay Dee,” registered to an Australian phone number. These messages allegedly referenced the use of a group called the “Black Shirts,” described as a motorcycle gang, to carry out acts of violence against him.

According to McIntyre’s legal team, they have obtained findings from a professional investigation conducted in Australia regarding the identity of the individual behind the “Jay Dee” profile. “We have been informed that this reflects the direct outcome of that investigation,” the legal team stated.

In one message cited by McIntyre, the sender wrote: “The Black Shirts are coming for you… There will be a knock on the door.” McIntyre also claimed he received screenshots from a WhatsApp group allegedly linked to project investors, which contained statements implying violence against him.

Jaxson-Keith-Dilger

Despite the alleged threats, McIntyre stated he remains undeterred and intends to continue pursuing legal avenues related to the suspected misuse of investor funds. “I will continue assisting authorities in investigating the alleged fraud involving investor funds,” he said.

McIntyre also cited an individual identified as Jaxson Keith Dilger, believed to be an Australian national linked to Western Australia, as the person suspected of sending the threatening WhatsApp messages. This identification, he said, was based on investigative findings obtained in Australia.

Dispute Over Investor Fund Transparency

The dispute stems from a fallout between McIntyre and Campbell within a company previously established to develop the Marina Bay City project in Lombok. McIntyre alleges that a portion of investor funds raised through Kinnara in Australia has not been properly accounted for.

According to him, the funds were intended to support the project through its Indonesian development entity, PT Marina Bay Investments. However, he claims that a significant portion of those funds was never transferred to the Indonesian company.

As a result, McIntyre’s legal team has repeatedly requested financial documentation to trace the flow of investor funds. The requested documents reportedly include bank statements, investor account records, transfer documentation, transaction histories, and other related financial records.

Observers following the case note that the disclosure of such documents could be the fastest way to provide clarity and reassurance to investors.

Potential Legal Consequences

Legal analysts suggest that if allegations of intimidation in the business dispute are substantiated, the case could escalate from a civil matter into a criminal investigation.

While disputes in large-scale development projects are not uncommon, experts note that allegations involving threats or coercion significantly raise the risk of more serious legal violations.

The controversy has also heightened concerns among investors seeking clarity over the management of funds allocated to the Marina Bay City Lombok project. Some observers believe the issue could be resolved through full transparency of the requested financial records. However, according to McIntyre, those documents have yet to be provided.

He also stated that Campbell had previously been invited to attend a meeting in Bali to discuss a potential commercial resolution aimed at protecting investor interests, but did not attend.

As of publication, neither Adrian Campbell nor Kinnara has issued an official statement in response to the allegations. Meanwhile, investors and observers continue to await clarity regarding the financial reports and the use of investor funds at the center of the dispute.
