BALI, THEIMAGE.ID – Booking.com has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Eco Tourism Bali (ETB), marking a significant step in their commitment to sustainable tourism.
This MoU formalises a partnership between Booking.com and Eco Tourism Bali, focusing on education and capacity building programs, as well as collaborative projects through events, to advance sustainable
tourism practices in Bali.
“Eco Tourism Bali has identified a gap for hotels that struggle to access internationally recognized certifications, such as those acknowledged by Booking.com. Therefore, we created a system that can assist hotels and restaurants, especially those partnering with Booking.com, to begin sustainable practices and gain market recognition. We want more hotels to have access to sustainability programs, understand the process, and be acknowledged for their efforts,” said Rahmi Fajar Harini, Chief Operating Officer of Eco
Tourism Bali.
The signing of this MoU is a special moment as it represents a concrete and measurable step towards establishing Bali as a sustainable destination. The agreement between Booking.com and ETB will also involve organising events focused on sustainable tourism, providing a platform for stakeholders to engage, learn, and implement sustainable practices.
Under this agreement, both parties will synergize to support initiatives aimed at advancing sustainable tourism through cooperative activities such as sustainable education and environmental conservation. This partnership leverages the strengths of Booking.com’s global platform and Eco Tourism Bali’s expertise in sustainable tourism to create a more environmentally responsible travel industry.***FRA
