BULELENG — PT BIBU Panji Sakti (BIBU) has taken a major step toward realizing the North Bali International Airport by signing partnership agreements with three global companies: PT Powerchina Inteligensi dan Integritas Energi Teknologi Indonesia (an affiliate of PowerChina), ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects (CHC) from Australia, and PT Garuda Daya Pratama Sejahtera (GDPS) under the Garuda Indonesia Group.

The signing ceremony took place at BIBU’s office in Kubutambahan, Buleleng, on October 28, 2025, witnessed by Balinese royal representatives from Paiketan Puri-Puri Se-Jebag Bali (P3SB).

With an estimated investment of Rp50 trillion (US$3 billion), the North Bali International Airport is designed to handle 20 million passengers annually and feature a 3,600-meter runway, aiming to begin operations in 2028. The project embraces the principles of green technology, cultural harmony, and sustainable development.

“We are bringing together globally recognized partners to ensure that North Bali International Airport meets world-class standards while reflecting Bali’s cultural and environmental identity,” said Erwanto Sad Adiatmoko, CEO of PT BIBU Panji Sakti. “This is a concrete step toward balanced regional development and improved national connectivity.”

PowerChina will lead the development of the airport’s renewable energy and smart microgrid systems, integrating solar power and battery energy storage to support Indonesia’s transition to clean energy.

“Our goal is to deliver reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure for Indonesia’s future,” said Zeng Anzhi, Director of Powerchina Inteligensi dan Integritas Energi Teknologi Indonesia.

ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects (CHC) will act as Lead Design Consultant for the North Bali Aerotropolis, supported by the International Design Collective (IDC) — a multidisciplinary collaboration including Homa Group, Sharp Day, Meinhardt, and local Indonesian partners.

Meanwhile, PT Garuda Daya Pratama Sejahtera (GDPS) will support the project’s human capital and aviation service management, ensuring world-class operational standards.

Balinese leaders expressed strong support for the initiative, calling it a symbol of regional equity, economic revitalization, and cultural pride.

Once completed, the North Bali International Airport will serve as a new aviation hub and sustainable gateway to northern Bali, reducing congestion at Ngurah Rai Airport and opening new opportunities for tourism and investment.

“North Bali will become the new face of an inclusive and globally competitive Bali,” said Erwanto.***
