The Meaning Behind the Name “Pegasus”

FOR Jimmi Saputra, every major step in life carries a meaning — and so does the name of his travel business, Pegasus. The name, he reveals with a smile, was not chosen at random.

“My mother was born in the Year of the Horse, and so was my wife, Natalia,” Jimmi says. “So I thought — if both of them are horses, why not make it a horse that can fly? That’s how the name Pegasus was born.”

Simple, yet deeply symbolic. To Jimmi, Pegasus represents the strength of hard work and the courage to keep reaching higher.

“The horse symbolizes power and perseverance, while the wings represent limitless dreams,” he explains. “That’s our hope — for this business to keep growing and soaring to greater heights.”

And that vision has truly taken flight. What began in Bali has now expanded across borders — with Pegasus Travel Agent establishing operations in Dubai, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, and preparing to open a new branch in Australia.

Jimmi’s entrepreneurial spirit, however, did not emerge overnight. It runs in his blood — inherited from his mother, a resilient and intuitive businesswoman who succeeded in every venture she pursued.

“I’ve learned so much from my mother,” Jimmi reflects. “She always believed that hard work and the courage to start are the two keys to success in life.”

Today, Pegasus stands not only as a thriving travel company but also as a symbol of family, determination, and the power of dreams that never stop soaring. **
