JAKARTA — Top officials from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) have agreed to strengthen inter-agency synergy to reinforce the integrity and security of Indonesia’s financial sector. The commitment was formalized through the signing of several cooperation agreements in Jakarta on Friday (November 28, 2025).
Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Mahendra Siregar, emphasized that cyberattacks pose a serious threat to the financial services industry.
“The greatest risk is losing public trust in the financial sector. That is what we must protect,” he said.
PPATK Chairman, Ivan Yustiavandana, highlighted the need for extreme collaboration among institutions, particularly in combating online gambling, which he warned could have severe long-term economic impacts.
“Without strong intervention, the damage can repeat itself. This synergy is the key,” Ivan stated.
Head of BSSN, Nugroho Sulistyo Budi, stressed that cybersecurity enhancement cannot be carried out by a single institution.
“BSSN cannot work alone. Collaboration is essential to ensure protection from cyber threats,” he said.
The cooperation covers data exchange, cybersecurity reinforcement, digital forensics support, incident response, and capacity building for the financial sector and digital asset ecosystem.
Through this strengthened partnership, the three institutions reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding the stability, integrity, and security of Indonesia’s financial system amid the rising landscape of digital threats.***
