BADUNG – Guests staying at Swiss-Belresort Pecatu no longer need to venture outside the hotel in search of souvenirs. Starting Sunday (September 28, 2025), the four-star resort officially introduced its Sunday Market, held in the hotel lobby, showcasing a variety of high-quality local products.

The opening day was met with enthusiasm from both hotel guests and participating tenants. A wide range of items were on display, from fashion, accessories, and jewelry to souvenirs and artworks—all crafted by the creative hands of local entrepreneurs. The Sunday Market has quickly become an added attraction for travelers seeking a practical yet authentic holiday experience.

Director of Sales & Marketing at Swiss-Belresort Pecatu, Cut Rosi, explained that the Sunday Market is not entirely new. It was held several years ago but was discontinued due to the limited number of tenants. Today, renewed enthusiasm has grown in line with the increasing number of MSMEs eager to participate.

“We decided to revive the Sunday Market because many tenants expressed their interest to join. We want this event to be more than just a business transaction—it’s also a platform to connect local MSMEs with tourists. In addition, part of the proceeds will be donated to charity, giving the event a social value as well,” said Cut Rosi.

Meanwhile, Yeye, the owner of Yeye’s The Curiosity Gift Shop at Swiss-Belresort Pecatu, expressed her excitement in reigniting the Sunday Market initiative. For her, this event is more than a commercial activity—it carries strong social values. “During the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to support many friends in need through social funds we collected,” she shared.

Beyond offering a comfortable shopping experience, the Sunday Market also serves as a promotional stage for small and medium-sized businesses. All products undergo a curation process to ensure quality while showcasing the unique cultural identity of Bali. This way, tourists not only bring home beautiful souvenirs but also carry authentic stories of local heritage.

The hotel management hopes the Sunday Market can grow into a regular weekend event, serving as a bridge between the hospitality industry and local entrepreneurs. With this concept, Swiss-Belresort Pecatu is not just a place to stay, but also a hub of cultural interaction and community empowerment.

The Sunday Market at Swiss-Belresort Pecatu demonstrates that tourism is not only about beautiful destinations but also about supporting the sustainability of the local creative economy. **
