GIANYAR — Polda Bali has declared full readiness to secure the international sporting event Kemala Run 2026, deploying a total of 1,595 joint personnel to ensure safety and smooth operations throughout the event.
The race will be centered at Bali United Training Centre, located in Pantai Purnama, Gianyar, and is expected to attract around 10,000 runners from across Indonesia and abroad.
Head of Public Relations of Bali Police, Ariasandy, stated on Thursday (April 16, 2026) that security preparations have been carefully coordinated across multiple agencies.
“Bali Police is fully committed to ensuring the success of Kemala Run 2026. Our main focus is to guarantee security as well as smooth traffic flow for all parties involved,” he said.
Of the total personnel deployed, 1,397 officers are from the police force, while 198 personnel come from supporting agencies, including the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Transportation Agency, Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Gianyar Health Office, as well as traditional Balinese security units (pecalang) and community-based security groups.
The event, scheduled for Sunday (April 19, 2026), will implement a multi-layered security strategy. Authorities will enforce strict sterilization in the start and finish areas, deploy personnel along the race routes covering 5K, 10K, and 21K (half marathon) categories, and manage traffic in real-time to prevent congestion and ensure the race routes remain free from vehicles.
The public is also advised to anticipate traffic diversions around the event area.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by traffic adjustments and encourage the public to support the smooth running of this event,” Ariasandy added.
He emphasized that the success of Kemala Run 2026 represents more than just a sporting achievement, but also reflects Bali’s image on the global stage.
“Ensuring security will have a significant positive impact on Bali’s tourism image moving forward,” he said.
Bali Police also urged residents planning activities in Gianyar on the day of the event to follow instructions from officers on duty and stay updated through official social media channels of Bali Police Public Relations.***
