SPM APS Fulfills Strike Promise, GM of Ngurah Rai Airport: Services are Running Normally

KUTA, THEIMAGE.ID – The Independent Workers Union (SPM) of PT. Angkasa Pura Support (APS) has finally realized its intention to go on strike at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali on Monday, (19/8/2024) due to the deadlock in communication regarding SPM’s demands to PT. APS. What should be watched out for is because Ngurah Rai International Airport is a national vital object whose comfort and security must also be maintained.

The SPM strike action was previously submitted to the Head of the Regency Industry and Manpower Office through letter Number: 02/SPMAPS/VIII/2024 signed by its General Chairperson, Made Dodik Satriawan and General Secretary, A. A. Gde Dwi Aditya Putra.

In the letter submitted to the Regency Industry and Manpower Office, Badung is mentioned in relation to the minutes of the meeting between PT. Angkasa Pura Support and the Independent Workers Union of PT. Angkasa Pura Support, Number: 01/RR/SPMAPS/VIII/2024, On Friday, August 9, 2024 at 14:30 WITA which took place in the meeting room on the 3rd floor of the PT. Angkasa Pura Support Denpasar branch office, the following conclusions were drawn: First, After the Negotiating Team/Workers’ Representatives waited for 2 hours, MR. DJOKO SETYO PEMBUDI could not provide certainty, even the Negotiating Team/Workers’ Representatives had to wait until 19.30 WITA. Second, Deputy Chairperson I of SPM APS as Chair of the Negotiating Team decided and ordered the Negotiating Team/Workers’ Representatives to leave the premises, and SPM APS will make a Unilateral Minutes which in essence the Bipartite Negotiation II has reached a Deadlock. Third, On Monday, August 12, 2024, SPM APS will send a Strike Notification to the Head of the Manpower and APS Management Office. Fourth, Except until Sunday, August 11, 2024, SPM APS receives an answer to the workers’ demands, namely the removal of the word “Project” in the Permanent Employee Decree “Project” and the creation of a Work Agreement with workers, SPM APS will not send a Strike Notification Letter.

The strike action of SPM PT. Angkasa Pura Support is planned to last until Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The Strike Action will be carried out until the Workers’ Demands are met, namely the removal of the word “Project” in the Permanent Employee Decree “Project” and the creation of a Work Agreement with workers.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Handy Heryudhitiawan in a release received by this media on Monday (19/8) said that the Strike Action of the Independent Workers Union of PT APS Denpasar Branch had no impact on the Operations of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

“Regarding the strike carried out by the Independent Workers Union of PT Angkasa Pura Supports (PT APS) Denpasar Branch on Monday, August 19, 2024, we can convey that this has no impact on the operations of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport,” said Handy.

According to Handy, Ngurah Rai Airport operations are still running normally, there are no obstacles in the implementation of services to airport service users. He emphasized that notification of the strike had previously been submitted to the relevant parties, including the Badung Regency Manpower Office and PT Angkasa Pura I as the airport manager so that it could be anticipated.

“Due to this situation, of course we continue to coordinate intensively with PT APS and the Head Office of PT Angkasa Pura I to ensure that the operations of Ngurah Rai Airport are always in prime condition and services to service users can run smoothly and in accordance with service standards. In the field, we also receive full support from the Airport Police, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Force Base, and the Airport Authority Office Region IV,” continued Handy.

Handy also reminded that the airport is a national vital object that serves the public interest, so that airport management will always strive to provide optimal service for service users.
