NETTA Shamdasani now serves as India’s Tourism Ambassador in Bali—an honor that recognizes her long-standing dedication to promoting Indian cuisine and culture on the island for more than two decades.
As a tourism ambassador, Netta actively brings Indian culture to life through culinary showcases, festivals, and promotional events across Bali. She also serves as a cultural bridge between India and Indonesia, while simultaneously supporting Bali’s global tourism promotion.
This role has become increasingly relevant as the number of Indian visitors to Bali continues to rise sharply. According to Bali’s Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in May 2025, arrivals from India reached 67,995—an increase of 36.93 percent compared to May 2024. By July 2025, Indian tourists accounted for approximately 6.5 percent of Bali’s total 697,000 international visitors.
“Bali is an international showcase. I am proud to bring a touch of India to this island while contributing to the growth of its tourism,” said Netta.
Through her ambassadorship, Netta continues to strengthen the friendship between the two nations via the tourism sector. Her presence as an ambassador is expected to further boost Bali’s appeal among Indian travelers—one of the island’s most promising and fast-growing visitor markets. **
