BALI, THEIMAGE.ID — President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated the Bali International Hospital (BIH) in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed pride in the hospital’s world-class facilities, which he likened to a luxury hotel — a testament to Indonesia’s progress as a dynamic and forward-moving nation.
“When I first entered, I thought it was a hotel. The hospital feels like a hotel, with marble floors and premium interiors. This reflects the fact that Indonesia is a great, advanced, and dynamic country. We must also have the best facilities so that we can become a regional healthcare hub — welcoming patients from Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and beyond,” President Prabowo said during the inauguration ceremony.
Prior to the official inauguration, President Prabowo toured various facilities at the hospital. He was accompanied by Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Dr. Lukman Ma’ruf, President Director of PT Pertamina Bina Medika Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), who provided a comprehensive overview of the hospital’s capabilities and readiness.
“The President visited the Bali International Hospital with us and several ministers. The hospital is now fully operational with 255 beds, eight operating rooms, and four cardiac diagnostic units,” Lukman explained.
During his visit, President Prabowo also inspected ICON, the hospital’s leading oncology center for cancer and tumor patients. Among its cutting-edge equipment is the LINAC (Linear Accelerator), a high-tech device used to support cancer treatment, including for patients in advanced stages.
“The President was particularly impressed with the LINAC equipment — a sophisticated tool expected to significantly aid recovery, especially for stage 3 and 4 tumor patients. LINAC also helps prevent the progression of early tumors into more aggressive cancers,” Lukman added.
President Prabowo praised the hospital’s comprehensive services and state-of-the-art medical equipment, which cover a range of specialties including cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics — all integrated within a single facility.
“He was very proud to see such complete and centralized medical services under one roof. In other hospitals, these services are often separated, but at Bali International Hospital, they are all brought together,” said Lukman.
President Prabowo concluded by encouraging the hospital to continue delivering high-quality care to all Indonesians and to serve as a national model for excellence in healthcare.
“My special message is to keep delivering the best possible service to the people who need it most,” he affirmed.***
