NUSA DUA – InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) together with tenants of The Nusa Dua, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa – Handwriting Collection, and Bulih Bali Community, held a Turtle Hatchling Release on Nusa Dua Beach on Thursday (Sept 25).

The event brought together environmental communities, local residents, domestic and international tourists, and ITDC Group employees in a collaborative effort to protect marine ecosystems. A total of 100 hatchlings were released into the ocean, symbolizing the shared commitment to conservation while offering an educational and memorable experience for participants.

“Through collaboration with tenants and communities, we aim to create activities that are not only ecologically meaningful but also provide valuable experiences for visitors, while reinforcing The Nusa Dua’s image as an environmentally friendly tourism destination,” he said.

In addition to the hatchling release, the event featured a conservation talk by Bulih Bali Community and participation from Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and education volunteers, amplifying the environmental message to a wider audience, especially the younger generation.

Spokesperson of the Bali Turtle Conservation Group (AKPPB)/Bulih Bali Community, I Kadek Wiadnyana, explained that the released hatchlings came from relocated turtle eggs found on Mengiat Beach.

“This relocation process is part of ex-situ conservation, allowing the eggs to safely hatch before being returned to their natural habitat (in-situ). This method increases their survival rate and underscores our commitment to turtle conservation in the Nusa Dua area,” he said.

The Turtle Hatchling Release also marked one of the highlights of the Road to Nusa Dua Festival 2025, an annual celebration featuring art, culture, sport tourism, and environmental initiatives. Through such programs, ITDC reaffirms its mission to enrich visitor experiences while positioning The Nusa Dua as a world-class destination grounded in sustainability.***
