BALI, THEIMAGE.ID – The Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Division of the Ngurah Rai
Immigration Office conducted an independent operation on Friday, February 7, 2025, in I
Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, targeting foreign nationals engaged in unauthorized
activities.
During the operation, officers detained two Polish nationals, identified as RS (male, 39) and
MT (female, 30), suspected of working illegally as tour guides.
They were observed in the international departures drop-off zone, wearing uniforms and carrying equipment from a
foreign travel agency while accompanying a group of tourists. Authorities conducted on-site
interviews and gathered additional information.
Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Head, Winarko, stated that the illegal employment of foreign
nationals as tour guides has become a key focus for immigration authorities.
“Our team identified two foreign nationals escorting tourists in the international departures
terminal. We have initiated further investigations into their activities,” said Winarko.
Both individuals were transported to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for further
investigation. Immigration records confirmed that they entered Indonesia via I Gusti Ngurah
Rai Airport on January 4, 2025, using a Visa on Arrival (VOA) and currently hold valid
residence permits.
“We are continuing our investigation. If immigration violations are confirmed, appropriate
legal action will be taken,” Winarko added.
“From January 1 to February 10, 2025, Ngurah Rai Immigration has issued 90 immigration administrative sanctions. We remain committed
to monitoring foreign nationals to ensure Bali’s tourism environment remains secure and orderly.”
