Wayan Artha Dipa: Governor Koster’s Attention to Craftsmen is Very Well Welcome

BALI, THE IMAGE  – Bali Governor Circular Letter Number 04 of 2021 concerning the Use of Endek Bali Woven Fabrics continues to receive support from various Heads of Government Agencies, after previously the Head of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Jamaruli Manihuruk, Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Bali Province, Trisno Nugroho, Kasrem 163 / Wirasatya, Colonel Inf. Ida Bagus Ketut Surya Widana, Head of the Indonesian Ombudsman Representative of Bali, Umar Ibnu Alkhatab, Head of LLDIKTI Region VIII, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, M.Sc., to the Regent / Mayor of Bali have provided support with the same enthusiasm to help craftsmen on the island of Bali who are being affected by the economy due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now the support is also flowing from the Deputy Regent of Karangasem, I Wayan Artha Dipa. As the number two person in the Karangasem Regency Government who knows very well the condition of his people, some of whom work as woven fabric craftsmen, with the issuance of the Circular on the Use of Bali Endek Woven Fabrics, he expressed his appreciation for Governor Koster’s policy.

“This is a policy that favors Small and Medium Industry (IKM) businesses. I was so appreciative of it, I also immediately socialized this Circular to various community organizations. The response from friends is very positive, ”said Deputy Head of Artha Dipa while attending a friendly event at Wantilan Kertha Sabha, Jayasabha, Denpasar, on Tuesday, Anggara Pon Ukir (16/2).

Wayan Artha Dipa also mentioned that there are 1,442 craftsmen in Karangasem Regency, of course very happy to receive the attention of the Bali Provincial Government and Karangasem Regency. So, hopefully the craftsmen community can expand their production and demand, so that the results can be enjoyed.

“This Circular will certainly have a positive impact on people engaged in the local Balinese weaving industry. So to make it happen, the only way that must be done is that we in the government must help the craftsmen, including marketing them, ”he explained while emphasizing Governor Koster’s attention to craftsmen through the SE Governor of Bali 04/2021 was very welcomed.

Furthermore, the Head of Regional Financial Services Authority (OJK) 8 Bali and Nusa Tenggara, Giri Tribroto also conveyed the same tone. Giri said that he was very happy with the policy of the Governor of Bali who started promoting clothing from the Endek Bali woven cloth. “I think this is a wise step to introduce Balinese handicrafts to the world. I know that a few days ago there was a decree from the World Class Fashion House from France, Christian Dior, which uses Balinese Endek Woven Fabric and this is proof of the efforts that the Bali Provincial Government continues to make that is able to produce a positive impact. Giri Tribroto also estimates that with this policy, of course, MSMEs engaged in the production of Endek Bali woven fabrics will have their economy elevated in the current pandemic condition. “This is an effort to improve the economy, especially MSMEs in Bali, and I think this policy really deserves to be supported,” he concluded.***
