Digitalization of QRIS-based Sport Tourism in Bali Inaugurated

“Sport Tourism like this needs to be prepared to implement the New Era Bali life order protocol including digitalization in payment transactions which will be very necessary to attract tourist visits. This is because in the future tourism will be more quality oriented, shifting from mass tourism to sustainable tourism or ecotourism. Meanwhile, sport tourism is projected to grow back in the next five years. In supporting digitization, the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) is a digital payment instrument solution that is fast, easy, cheap, and safe and can be applied in all sectors with micro to large scale businesses. In addition, QRIS as a payment instrument is also a solution to revive the tourism sector in a new era of life because it supports clean, health, safety and environmental sustainability factors which are the main requirements to be fulfilled in the pandemic era, “said Nugroho.

QRIS-based digitalization is implemented starting from the entrance, restaurants and all merchants in the golf course and water sports areas. Not only that, all caddies on the golf course are also equipped with QRIS so that they can immediately receive payments and tips using the QRIS-based digital method. Currently, 5 (five) golf courses in the Bali Region, namely Nusa Dua Course, Pecatu Course, Bali Beach Golf, Pandawa Golf, and Bali Handara Golf, as well as the water sports area in Nusa Dua Bali, have all implemented QRIS-based health protocols and digitization.

It is hoped that this inauguration will further accelerate and expand the use of QRIS in Bali, which currently has reached 196,078 merchants.
