PROBOLINGGO – Probolinggo City Police have arrested 10 suspects and seized nearly 40 grams of crystal methamphetamine during a major crackdown under Operasi Tumpas Semeru 2025, officials announced Friday (Sept. 19).
Police Chief AKBP Rico Yumasri said eight of the suspects were members of a local drug syndicate, while two others were dealers, including one identified as a key distributor based in Pasuruan.
Officers also confiscated 39.66 grams of meth, 11 mobile phones, 404 empty plastic clips, six digital scales, and IDR 3.1 million (approx. USD 190) in cash linked to drug sales.
The suspects, all residents of Probolinggo City and surrounding areas, face charges under Indonesia’s Narcotics Law No. 35/2009. They could face prison terms ranging from 5 to 20 years, or even life sentences.
“This success is the result of joint efforts across the community. We remain committed to suppressing narcotics distribution in Probolinggo City,” Yumasri said in a press briefing.***
